At Morpeth All Saints, we believe that all pupils can achieve in mathematics. Through a teaching for mastery approach, we develop deep, secure understanding by taking learning in small steps, using clear representations and precise mathematical vocabulary. We actively encourage pupils to explain their thinking clearly through mathematical talk, self-explanation and written reasoning. We use the NCETM curriculum prioritisation alongside Oak Academy to develop lessons that are accessible yet aspirational for all pupils, supported by Number Sense to strengthen times tables and number facts, and Winning With Numbers to build fluency and recall. This enables pupils to make connections, explain their thinking and become confident, resilient mathematicians with the skills they need for later life.
