Physical Education at Morpeth All Saints
At Morpeth All Saints, Physical Education is at the heart of school life. We are incredibly proud to have achieved the Platinum School Games Mark, recognising our commitment to high-quality PE, school sport and competition across the academic year. This prestigious award reflects the dedication of our pupils, staff and wider community in promoting active, healthy lifestyles for all.
Our PE curriculum is carefully sequenced to ensure children develop fundamental skills a lifelong love of physical activity.
Pupils experience a broad and balanced range of topics across the year:
- Autumn 1: Fundamental Movements (EYFS/KS1) and Multi-skills (KS2), alongside Martial Arts
- Autumn 2: Dance, including specialist sessions delivered by CAST
- Spring 1: Gymnastics
- Spring 2: Invasion Games
- Summer 1: Striking and Fielding
- Summer 2: Athletics
Swimming is provided for Key Stage 2 classes, ensuring children develop water confidence and essential life-saving skills
We work closely with our School Sports Partnership (SSP), with structured timetables ensuring every class receives high-quality teaching both indoors and outdoors throughout the year
Beyond curriculum lessons, competitive sport and enrichment opportunities are a real strength. Children regularly take part in inter-school competitions, festivals and friendly fixtures, representing Morpeth All Saints with pride, determination and outstanding sportsmanship. Our inclusive approach ensures that all pupils – regardless of ability – have the opportunity to participate, compete and succeed.
