Review of expenditure:

The policy, allocation of funds (which we receive in our Budget on the 30 September) and impact of provision is reviewed every year immediately after Autumn half term, when pupils have been identified, funding allocated and provision put in place.

Pupil Premium is funding allocated to schools by the Government to support children and is awarded to pupils identified through the uptake of Free School Meals as a way to tackle inequalities in achievements for children who are disadvantaged. The funding we receive is based on pupils who have been registered for free school meals at any point in the last six years (known as Ever 6 FSM and not adopted from care, see paragraph 3 (31) of the Conditions of Grant – link provided below) and Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).  Any child recorded as a Service Child. Looked After Children (LAC) Any child recorded as adopted from care (and Residence Order / Special Care) (Post LAC).

This can be either under a legal order or a voluntary agreement with parents. Children may live with foster carers, in a residential home, with approved family and friends foster carers or remain at home with parents under a care order, depending on their circumstances. The Local Authority shares parental responsibility with parents where there is a legal order. Where it is a voluntary agreement, the parents retain full responsibility for their child. together with and is being used to address needs of those identified both pastorally and academically). Each school has the freedom to decide how to use the Pupil Premium, as they are best placed to assess what additional provisions should be made for the individual pupils at their school. Therefore, even if you do not wish your child to have a meal, the school is entitled to these additional funds to further help your child too.
